Michael Kuzmak, formerly of Korn Krest, Hanover Township, Pa., Levittown, and Bernardsville, N.J., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011. He was 89.

He was a 1939 graduate of Hanover Township High School and of Wilkes College, Class of 1954.

He was married to the former Marie Mc Laughlin, who preceded him in death in 2005, after 62 years of marriage.

Mr. Kuzmak was a World War II veteran who was extremely proud of joining the U.S. Navy as an apprentice seaman and being discharged as a warrant officer.

During World War II, he served on three vessels operating in the South Pacific for most of the duration of the war, where he received a letter of Meritorious Conduct while under enemy fire.

He is survived by his brother, John of Detroit, Mich.; daughter, Helenann Quinn and her husband, Andrew, of Freehold, N.J.; a son, Michael III and wife, Carol, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Aileen Quinn, who starred in the Columbia Pictures film 'Annie', granddaughter, Lori Hardee and husband, Jefferson, of Raleigh, N.C., grandson, Andrew Quinn III and wife, Theresa, of Bridgewater, N.J., grandson, Michael Kuzmak of Fernandina Beach, Fla., great-granddaughter, Fiona Marie Quinn and great-grandson, Ronan Sullivan Quinn, both from Bridgewater, N.J.

A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Seney Drive in Bernardsville, N.J. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas, Pa.
